Adam is an engaging Teacher and Performer and is extremely passionate about inspiring students to reach their personal goals. His vast experience as a performer and wealth of contacts in the industry along with many years of experience teaching children and vocational students of all ages in Musical Theatre, Acting, Jazz, Tap and Commercial gives students a real insight into the world of performing arts. Students are given the training required to succeed in their professional career whilst working in a fun and highly energised environment. Adam has lectured and presented masterclasses at many of the major associations congress events including the A.D.A, I.D.T.A, B.A.T.D, N.A.T.D, A.B.D, U.K.A and N.C.D.T.A as well as adjudicating many championships including the TDCI British and English Championships and Miss Dance and Dance Master of Great Britain. In 2024 Adam played to over 35,000 people in arenas and theatres throughout the UK in the comedy tour 'Leigh Francis My first Time' including a sold out show at The London Palladium. His Theatre credits in the West End and on National Tours include ‘Mamma Mia’, ‘West Side Story’, ‘Chicago’, ‘Footloose’, ‘Betty Blue Eyes’, ‘Copacabana’, 'Boogie Nights' and ‘Never Forget’ to mention a few. Adam has also worked extensively in comedy filming several series for both ITV and the BBC working with names such as Leigh Francis, Amanda Holden, Paddy Mcguiness, Jonny Vegas, David Jason, Emilia Fox, Jessica Hynes and Larry Lamb. In 2023 he was awarded 'Best Comic' at the prestigious 'Pantomime Awards' at The Travalgar Theatre in the West End alongside fellow winners Sir Ian McKellen and Vernon Kay. Adam has also worked on a number of Television Dramas. His TV credits include 'The Holden Girls: Mandy and Myrtle', ‘The Bay’, ‘The Keith and Paddy Picture Show’, ‘Home From Home’, ‘The Keith Lemon Sketch Show’, ‘Coronation Street’, ‘Where the Heart is’, ‘Doctors’, ‘Hollyoaks’, ‘Lemon La Vida Loca’ and ‘Coming in America'. In 2010 Adam won a prestigious 'Carl Alan' award in the Professional Performers category. He is also an honorary member of the Allied Dancing Association, an honorary member of the International Dance Teachers Association and has an Honorary Fellowship degree with the Associated Board of Dance alongside being a registered LAMDA teacher.
Emma is a highly experienced dance teacher and has been training both children of all ages and vocational students for many years. Ballet has always been her main passion, she was an associate with the Royal Ballet School but she also trained in Jazz, Modern, Tap, Contemporary, Musical Theatre and Acting. Emma is a highly experienced dance teacher and has been training both children of all ages and vocational students for many years. Ballet has always been her main passion, she was an associate with the Royal Ballet School but she also trained in Jazz, Modern, Tap, Contemporary, Musical Theatre and Acting. She worked as Assistant Choreographer for ‘The One Show’ for the BBC and following on from that was Assistant Choreographer on “Strictly Come Dancing” in 2009. For many years she worked at the Palace Theatre, Manchester as a creative and choreographer for their Summer Stage Experience. She choreographed 'Innit' the Musical at The Lowry in 2007 and has worked on various music videos over the years. In 2006 Emma was approached as a consultant to assist writing a new Musical Theatre degree course at the Arden School of Theatre in Manchester, where she still teaches now. Emma teaches Ballet and Jazz on the Musical Theatre course and is passionate about helping her students achieve success in the performing arts industry. In 2019 Emma was an adjudicator for the prestigious TDCI English Championships. Although dance has always been Emma’s main love she has also been lucky enough to work extensively as an actress with various roles for the BBC, ITV and Sky One over the years. She played Linzie Ferguson in Series 6 of ‘Dream Team’ for Sky One and was an episode lead in ‘Holby City’ and ‘Merseybeat’ for the BBC. She has also had roles in ‘Heartbeat’, ‘Nice Guy Eddie’, and ‘Blue Murder’ along with various different commercials over the years. Emma is also a qualified Acrobatic Arts teacher and a Fitness and Pilates Instructor. Both of these disciplines marry extremely well with dance training and is excellent for improving facility and strength as well as injury prevention.
Kelvin Towse teaches 1-1 Singing lessons and ensemble singing with our Musical Theatre students.
Kelvin is a fantastic teacher having worked at vocational colleges throughout the UK and a highly experienced Musical Director.
He was MD for the number one UK tours of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and The Sound of Music, he was Associate Musical Director/Conductor for Whistle Down the Wind and was the Musical Director for the UK & Ireland tour of Blood Brothers from 2008 – 2015.
He is also a regular Musical Director for Crossroads pantomimes and will be returning for his 3rd year this year to The Opera House, Manchester, to MD Cinderella, having previously been MD for Peter Pan and Jack & the Beanstalk, all starring Jason Manford.
He has also been Musical Director/Supervisor for productions at some of the country’s top repertory theatres, most notably Derby Theatre, where he was MD for The Entertainer, A Christmas Carol, Romeo and Juliet, Animal Farm, As You Like It and Treasure Island, One Man Two Guv’nors, Brassed Off and Welfare.
We are so excited to announce that the incredibly talented Faye Brookes will be joining us to lead an Acting and Musical Theatre Masterclass for our students. Faye is an extremely talented actress, singer and dancer who epitomises what it means to be an amazing and inspiring ‘all-round ‘ performer. She began her West End career playing Frenchy in Grease and then went on to play Elle Woods in the Legally Blonde UK tour and Princess Fiona in Shrek the Musical. She then found success with various TV roles and went on to win a National Television award for her brilliant portrayal of Kate Connor in Coronation Street. Faye was a finalist in the latest series of ITV’s Dancing on Ice and is currently touring the country as Roxy Hart in the hit musical 'Chicago'.
We’re so excited to announce that the incredible Rebecca Louis will be joining us again in December to work with our students. Rebecca has been very busy since she last came to NSDT working as a Creative on Joseph at the London Palladium and currently on the UK tour of Bedknobs and Broomsticks. She is also Associate Movement Director on A Christmas Carol at the Old Vic so we are very lucky she has time in her busy schedule to come and work with our students. Rebecca has a lot of performing experience and also as a Creative working with the children in shows such as ‘Nativity’ the Musical, Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat and Bedknobs and Broomsticks. She has also worked as a Children’s Casting Agent so this promises to be another exciting experience for our students and we can’t wait for her to come and share her knowledge and expertise with us.
We’re so excited to announce that the incredible Ivan de Freitas will be joining us to lead a West End Musical Theatre Masterclass. Ivan has a wealth of West End experience appearing in many smash-hit shows over the years and recently won a coveted 'Carl Alan Award'. We can’t wait to welcome him to NSDT before he returns to performing in ‘& Juliet’ the Musical at the Shaftesbury Theatre. It promises to be a truly magical day for our students as Ivan brings his knowledge and expertise to Didsbury. Super exciting times!!
We’re so excited to announce that the fantastically talented Dane Quixall will be coming in to NSDT next term to work with our students. Dane has had an impressive theatre career appearing in West End Shows and UK and International Tours. He has worked on Cats the Musical for many years all over the world performing various roles and also as Resident Director. This is another fantastic opportunity for our students and we can’t wait to welcome Dane to NSDT.
We are very excited to announce that we will be welcoming the brilliant Matthew Croke to NSDT to lead a Junior and Senior Musical Theatre workshop with our students. Matt is best known for playing the title role in Disney’s Aladdin at The Prince Edward Theatre in the West End. He has also appeared as Fiyero in Wicked, Tony in West Side Story, Don Lockwood in Singin’ in the Rain, Eugene in Grease, Larry in a Chorus Line and Amos in Chicago. This is such a fantastic opportunity for our students to work with yet another leading industry professional.
Flori played Michael Jackson in the West End for 2 years. He has also worked with artists such as Tom Jones, Amelia Lily, Blue and Atomic Kitten. He teaches at vocational colleges across the UK and we can’t wait to welcome him to NSDT to work with our students.
We are super excited to announce that we will be welcoming the very brilliant Richard Marcel to run 2 Masterclasses with our students. Richard is a highly experienced and award winning Choreographer who has worked on TV shows such as Strictly Come Dancing, Lip Sync Battle UK, So You Think You can Dance, The Royal Variety Show, Comic Relief and Children in Need. He choreographed the feature films Kick Ass 2 and Cuban Fury. His West End Choreography credits include Godspell, Burn the Floor and Riverdance. He’s choreographed major TV advertising campaigns for Samsung, Virgin, Burberry, Easyjet and TK Maxx and has also worked with some very big names in the Pop industry such as Madonna, Kylie Minogue, The Spice Girls, Diana Ross, George Michael, Liza Minelli, Tom Jones and Mark Ronson.
